Volunteers

  1. On a day before the event, the Parking Supervisor meets with the volunteers to discuss and determine how they will organize themselves for the event.

  2. Six to eight workers will be needed for each shift of the parking crew.

  3. A site plan of the parking areas is to be reveiwed and discussed before hand. Workers should be assigned to direct traffice at different areas.

  4. On Friday, the workers should receive their vests, batons, radios, and the schedule of events. You will also be given a volunteer wrist band.

  5. On Saturday, the first crew shoudl be at their assigned area at 7 am to ensure that parking is started correctly.

    Remember, you will be the first volunteer our visitors will have contact with. Hand them the Schedule of Events/Map. (Make sure you familiarize yourself with this schedule/map and are prepared to answer questions.)

  6. At 6 PM, move the barricades to the side of the road to allow all traffic to access.

  7. You will receive one voucher for a refreshement and entree athat can be redeemed at a food truck that day. Additional items are your own responsibility.

  8. If there are any problems you encounter throughout the day, you should first contact your supervisor who will contact Security. If necessary, they will be prepared to contact the RCMP or EMT if required.

  9. Don't let anyone bully you regarding parking. You have the authority, not them. Again, call your supervisor.

  10. At the end of your shift, you must return your vest, baton and radio to your supervisor. Athe end of the day your supervisor will bring all of these items to the back of the arena and give them to a SLPGA member.
